All Day Sashay has quickly become extremely popular in the region and is everyone’s most anticipated dance of the year.
This year it will take place on Saturday, November 14 and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever featuring a styling workshop and over 9 hours of dancing at all levels (SSD/Mainstream through C1) in three dedicated dance spaces.
We will once again feature a caller showcase and you’ll get to dance to many new up-and-coming callers from the region.
Full details and online registration will be revealed very soon so mark your calendar and get ready for the dance event of the year.
Welcome to All Day Sashay, the spectacular and highly anticipated dance of the winter season and one amazing day full of music, dance and friendship.
This year’s theme for the evening dance will be Wizard of Oz!
Organized by the Ottawa Date Squares and promoted by the Eastern Ontario Square and Round Dance Association (EOSARDA), this event is for everyone from SSD through C1.
All dancing will take place at the Courtyard Ottawa Downtown (350 Dalhousie Street) where three ballrooms will be open at all times allowing you to dance your favourite level as much as you want.
* Dance socks that allow you to glide across these carpeted ballrooms will be available for sale for $10.
* Hotel rooms are not included in your registration but you can contact them directly to book a room at (613)241-1000. and ask for the Ottawa Date Squares rate ($169) or click here to book online. The special rate is good until October 15.
Here is the current tip schedule for the day. It is subject to change so be sure to check back here for updated info.
Note: All SSD dancing will be at class-level so everyone can dance it. There will be one class-level Plus tip and one class-level A1 tip in the afternoon.
While there are tons of great options for dining in the ByWard Market, we understand that many of you will want to spend time with your fellow square dancers during the supper break.
For this reason, we will be reserving some tables for a delicious buffet supper at Tucker’s Marketplace at 4:45pm.
If you plan to attend, please use our RSVP form to let us know how many seats to reserve for you.
The Courtyard Marriott Downtown does offer limited on-site parking for $30 per day with in and out privileges.
There is a city-run parking garage at 70 Clarence Street that is a short walk to the hotel. It costs $1.50 per 1/2 hour up to a maximum of $14 during the day and $8 overnight (after 6pm).
The cheapest option of all would be City Hall Garage $2 max for the day, but the walk to the hotel from there is 1km.
The street-side parking is free on weekends but check the parking meter rules to be certain and the maximum time you can park in a space is 6 hours after which you may need to move your vehicle to a different space.
